“One of the best ways that I can help empower women is by helping them to learn how to keep themselves safe,” said Samora.  As a way to give back to the community, Let’s Make You Shine is by sponsoring the upcoming Milton Police Department’s Self Defense Training for Women at Milton Hospital.

For four weeks, starting on Tuesday, November 8, Lt. Kevin Foley, Detective Pam DiGovanni, Officer Patty Mandeville and Officer Patty Lio, will teach women how to develop and enhance their self-defense options through the internationally known R.A.D. Program  (Rape Agression Defense).    Recognized since 1989, as the largest women’s self-defense training organization in the world, R.A.D. helps women learn self-defense strategies that are easy to learn, retain and relatively easy to employ.

“Lt. Foley and I encourage women in Milton, of any age, to learn how to better protect themselves by participating in this free four-week, R.A.D. course” said Let’s Make You Shine’s Robin Samora. The course, which is at no cost to women ages 16 and above, is open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Space is also limited.
